Almost 3,000 people have responded to consultation on plans for a new station at Golborne, Wigan.

Transport for Greater Mancher plans a two-platform station for the town, which would include new access to the town centre, car park improvements and active travel measures. The authority has been working in partnership with Wigan Council and Greater Manchester Combined Authority to deliver a station for the town, which has no direct bus, train or tram services to Manchester: direct rail services would cut journey times by an estimated 30 minutes.
