HARTING reveals solutions for energy efficiency and weight reduction in rail

HARTING’s series of Railway Web-Seminars continues to examine the most important trends in the railway industry, with the focus in April turning to ‘Energy efficiency through weight reduction’.

As manufacturers strive to decrease energy consumption and improve efficiencies, reducing the weight of components is one of the most important aspects to consider.

Compact, lighter connectors and weight-reduced cable assemblies can make a measurable contribution, especially over the long service life of rail vehicles.

These savings may seem minimal compared to the weight of a train, but as connector usage in rail vehicles increases so too does their proportion of the overall weight, meaning energy efficient choices are increasingly important.

Join the web-seminar live on Thursday 22 April to discover new solutions for replacing distribution boxes and optimising cable routing. You’ll also see how cabling from HARTING can contribute to weight reduction and learn how to save space with our new Han® HPR Compact connector series.

There are four rail webinars in the series and you only need to register once to gain access to all four sessions. The first three web-seminars are available on demand now and look at ‘Powerful interfaces for high-speed data transmission’, ‘High-performance interfaces for high currents and voltages’ and ‘Solutions for upgrade and retrofit’.
