Testing of the 100mph Mk 5a + Class 68 ‘Nova 3’ train for TransPennine Express has continued at the Velím test track in the Czech Republic, with the coaches loaded with a large number of sections of rail to simulate a full passenger load. This has enabled the dynamic testing to move on into the braking system and for a full assessment of the train’s performance to be carried out.
