PICTURES OF the new ETFE roof being built above the concourse at Leeds station have been released by Network Rail.

The higher roof, designed to allow more light into the concourse, will replace the wooden roof. The gateline will also be straightened and barriers renewed, with work on course to be completed in time for the UCI Road World Championships at the end of September.

NR says the new roof and gateline are the first step towards the delivery of the Leeds Integrated Station Masterplan (LISM), a collaboration between the rail industry, Leeds City Council and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
