PICC VIADUCT UNDER REPAIR

Refurb project: Lanes staff work on South
Harrow viaduct.

LANES GROUP has begun refurbishment of a viaduct on London Underground’s Piccadilly Line between South Harrow and Rayners Lane.

The viaduct, opened in 1910, was built to extend the line across Roxeth Marshes, which were drained and built over in the 1930s. Lanes has been commissioned by LU to repair a 204-metre section of the viaduct, encompassing 17 arches, as part of a phased maintenance programme. The work includes extensive renewal of brickwork, removal of vegetation and degraded mortar, the reset and where necessary replacement of loose brickwork and repointing of bricks.
