Manchester Metrolink recorded its highest ever Sunday ridership on 14 April when more than 175,000 journeys were made on the light rail system.
Manchester’s Marathon was held that day, and this year’s figure beat the previous highest – 145,000 – set in 2023, also on a race day. The busiest routes were to Altrincham, Bury, East Didsbury and Manchester, with loadings highest in the morning before the marathon and early afternoon after it was completed.
