TECHNOLOGY KEY TO EARTHWORKS MANAGEMENT

Post-Carmont taskforces make over 50 recommendations

Embankment rebuilt: work in progress to repair the railway following a landslip at Hillmorton Junction, south of Rugby, where land started to slip underneath the tracks on 27 January. Repair work took 17 days, during which time trains were diverted via Northampton; the landslip is thought to have been caused by heavy rain from Storm Christoph.
