May’s schedule alterations largely see restoration of services removed due to Covid,

OPERATORS ACROSS the network have been rapidly enacting timetable changes ever since the pandemic arrived in March 2020. Following service reductions during the early part of this year in line with the lockdowns in place across the UK, a gradual process of rebuilding is underway. Aside from the significant changes at EMR (see previous spread), restitution of removed services is the order of the day, with the ability to deliver enhancements inhibited by the driver training backlog facing operators as a result of the challenges of social distancing. Further enhancements are planned in September as this year the industry adopts four rather than two major timetable changes (p10, last month).
