Realtime Trains’ latest innovation identifies causes of delay

Launch route: Greater Anglia Stadler Flirt EMU No 745004 approaches Stratford forming the 10.30 Liverpool Street to Norwich on 1 September 2020, slightly ahead of a pair of Class 315s forming the 10.30 Liverpool Street to Shenfield TfL Rail service. Both routes are part of the launch area for Track your Train on Realtime Trains.

Realtime Trains has become well-known in the rail industry as a handy tool for looking up train running information. Its founder and owner Tom Cairns reports the site has more than one million unique users a month across all platforms. His own analysis suggests 75% of traffic to the site is not from the enthusiast community, based on how the site is used and the level of detail users are examining.
