A digest of the main changes on Network Rail, London Underground and Northern Ireland Railways infrastructure during September 2019; compiled by Martyn Brailsford of the Branch Line Society (www.branchline.uk).
September again has been quiet, with the only item of note being the extension of the Great Western electrification into Wales.
Between Lea Bridge and Meridian Water (2:10B) The Lea Valley Reversible line has been commissioned between Lea Bridge Junction (6M 44ch) and Meridian Water station (7M 47ch). Ripple Lane Yard (2:4A) As part of the Barking Riverside project, the two turnouts giving access to No 4 road at Ripple Lane West Yard have been secured in the normal position, thus taking this siding out of use until early 2020.
Between Peterborough and Stamford (4:10B)
Aldwinkle User Worked Crossing, at 13M 57ch, has been upgraded to include Overlay Miniature Stop Lights (OMSL).
