Network Rail and the inter-city operator work well together on the West Coast, PETER BROADLEY, Executive Director, Customer Operations and Safety, Virgin Trains, and MARTIN FROBISHER, London North Western Route Managing Director, Network Rail, told the CILT Railway Study Forum
Virgin Trains West Coast connects the major cities of London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow. ‘It is essential that we make this network work well’ says Peter Broadley. ‘The fastest journey times from Euston to Birmingham New Street are 1hr 13min, Manchester Piccadilly 2hr dead.’ Virgin alone runs 300 trains per day on the West Coast main line.
