Crossrail Update
Railway users in west London are now benefiting from Elizabeth Line station revamps.
Network Rail has opened a new steel and glass ticket hall at Acton Main Line alongside a raft of other station improvements, including new gatelines and platform shelters. The addition of a covered footbridge and two new lifts means that 152 years after it opened Acton Main Line now offers passengers step-free access to platforms.
Crossrail work at West Ealing and Ealing Broadway stations is also nearing completion, with both stations getting new look, expanded ticket halls. New lifts provide step-free access to platforms served by TfL Rail and Great Western Railway trains as well as the District and Central London Underground Lines at Ealing Broadway.
Development of passenger facilities at these three stations in the London Borough of Ealing complements earlier infrastructure upgrades, including the extension of platforms to accommodate the 205-metre long Class 345s now in service. West Ealing has a new bay platform, created by widening platform 4, for Greenford branch trains.
