The retirement of Julian Drury, MD of c2c from 2008, is an appropriate moment to review the performance of the London, Tilbury and Southend route during his tenure. It is important to look at more than just passenger data as there are significant freight flows from North Thameside which give a core of over 20 freight workings on and off the route at Barking on weekdays, with some trains scheduled on Saturdays.
